The work

The rhythm of iron.
The freedom of the line.

Fili d’erba is a self-supporting L-shaped staircase with an iron structure and treads. Its slender railing follows the ascent and continues along the upper landing beneath the ceiling beams.

The railing motif runs across the upper floor. Slender lines stand out against the beams and bring continuity to the staircase.

The images

Images marked “AI photographic study” are editorial interpretations and may alter details of the work or its setting. The links beside them show the original photographs, which remain the reference for the details.

Studies of form

The three-dimensional animations are illustrative studies of line and material. The staircase in the contact section is an original 3D model inspired by the folded metal treads of “Fuori Salone Milano” in the Scapini Design portfolio. It is a study of form, rather than a reconstruction to scale. The Loretta film is an AI interpretation of the original photograph.
