Written in iron.
Simone Scapini’s sculptural fireplace opens into a hood of forged ribbons and extends towards the ceiling. Curved rods wrap around it without enclosing it: light passes through the gaps and casts their shadows on the wall.
Forged iron. Oxidised finish. Designed by Simone Scapini.Ribbons, rings,
intervals of light.
Two distances from which to read the design: the rising curve and the material of the hood.

A rising movement.
The rings follow the curve of the ribbons. The open design offers glimpses of the timber ceiling and the wall.

Weight becomes a line.
The iron bands come together and draw apart. The shades of oxidation reveal edges, overlaps and depth.

The material continues.
The ends of the ribbons descend towards the pale base. Its pebble surface meets the iron and frames the hearth opening.
